CHATTING WITH GRANNY

Week 3 sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy had the perfect simplicity that I needed

for this very cute photo of Monique chatting on the phone to Granny.

Combine that with the stunning new papers from Teresa Collins new range -"He said - She said"  and here we have a very cute layout using the "She said" papers and die cut accessories.  I inked the edges for the softer look.
I love how the main card stock is the same design as our wallpaper was at that time - see all things come back into fashion if you keep them long enough!

VISITING SANTA

The challenge at Lets get Sketchy for week 4 is a sketch and colour challenge

and these photos are the perfect colour scheme for it:

Gosh Monique looks so small on Santas knee.  I am really pleased with the way my title fitted in - using the word in the photo as part of it.

CUTE FOR THE PATCH

I have had this sketch since it was published over at Scrappin patch but nothing I did looked right

This is the sketch:

Then I got to these photos and knew they were just what I needed:

I am really pleased with the tickets across the centre - these are a combination of tickets from Purple Pumpkin and I over stamped them with That's the Ticket Stamp set from Stampin Up.  The cute fiddling cat button is also from Purple Pumpkin.

FUN IN THE TUB

Week 3 at Scrap much is a lovely simple but fun one

Here is my take on it:

When these photos were developed (back in the day that you handed over the film and waited!) this photo came back with a sticker on it "what a shot" and it is.
It was always so much easier to bath the kids in the kitchen sink (while they could still fit) as there was no carrying water or bending over the bath.
This is my daughter Monique at about 6months old.

FINAL VOWS

Week 4's sketch over at Scrap much was just perfect for this photo

This is the sketch:
I have used on 5x7 photo for this one.

I was really pleased when hunting through my stash of papers to find paper that matched one of the ladies in the photo and then it all just came together from there.
This is one of favourite pages.

THE ZOO

Yet another inspiring sketch from Inspired Blueprints -

I had these 3 photo and they had gone around and around my desk - then I check this weeks sketch and knew it was perfect -

Then I had to find the Stampin up Animal Stories paper that was in my stash and away I went.  It all came together very quickly.

1st BIRTHDAY PHOTO SHOOT

I am really loving the sketches over at Inspired Blueprints and sketch #87 was just perfect for these photos of Monique on her 1st birthday

This is sketch #87

and my layout:
Such a lovely simple sketch but with the extra bit as well.

SLIDE FUN

Week 1 at Lets Get Sketchy this months was a sketch and colour challenge -

Here is the sketch:

And, this week we are adding an additional challenge to go with the sketch! You must use this color combo created by Design Team member Brenshevia with the sketch.

It has taken me a while to do this one - I have now done a layout but have also added the blue to mine as the other colours as the background didn't do my photo's justice.

I also used a couple of photos instead of the circle.

I am really pleased with the result.

PLAYING IN THE BACKYARD

I love the simplicity of the sketch for week 2 at Lets Get Sketchy

I have done the following:

These photo is of my husband, mum, sisters and friends playing in their back yard in 1965 - aren't they all very cute.

Double the fun

The week 1 challenge at Scrap Much was this lovely double layout

and just what I need to these Christmas Day photos

It was great to be able to tell the full day on one page.

Thanks for viewing.

1977

The second challenge for March over at Stuck sketches was a fun sketch and came together really quickly.

Here is my take on it

I am loving the Dusty Attic Holly flourish - it has been part of my stash for a while and just worked perfectly on this layout and sketch.

Thanks for viewing.

White with 1

Normally I am a very colourful scrapper so the challenge at White with 1 was an interesting on - especially at it was:

WHITE + BROWN + DOODLING

Here is my take on the challenge:

I am really pleased with my results - love this photo and one that every child needs in their photo album.

"Sisters"

When I saw the sketch over at the Kraft it up blog I thought it was a fun sketch to put me outside my "square" and it did :).

The requirement for this sketch was that you use kraft as the  base card stock.

Here is my take on the sketch:

I misted the background with TCW retro square mask with a variety of mist and I am really pleased with how they came out.

I am redoing my daughters photo album, which I started approximately 8 years ago when the trend was the cut out your photos into "fun" shapes - never again - but they have worked for the redo and this sketch.

Love this Title

As soon as I saw this title and sketch at Scrap Much  for there Week 2 Challenge I knew I had to use it for one the the pages I am doing for my husbands 50th album

- my daughter choose the photo.

You just have to love the fashion back in the 70's.

Interesting times

Sketch #19 at my scraps and more sketches is a lovely clean and simple one and how I wanted to scrap this photo.

For this photo - I need to do quiet a bit of journalling as there is a long story as part of this photo

Due to complications at birth Monique was born with a severe hearing loss and needed to wear hearing aids until she was 6 months old - she is now a hearing child.  The flag are the ear pieces from her aid during this time.

Bounce!!

I have found another great scrapbooking site my scraps and more sketches - who have a weekly sketch - I have done the first two for the month and here they are:

Sketch # 18

This sketch was just what I need for these photos of my daughter in her Jolly jumper.

All of my children loved their time in the jolly jumper and it certainly meant I was able to get on with things and know where they were.

Baptism

Sketch #84 at Inspired-blueprints worked perfectly for these photos that I have of my daughters Baptism.

Looking back at some of the pages I did when I started scrapbooking approximately 8 years ago - they are now very scary and basic - I am currently working on my 2nd daughters 21st album and so redoing many of the early pages - oh how we evolve and develop.

Here is my take on this sketch

Originally these photos were spread over 3 pages - they look so much better as one and tell a much more complete story.

I have tucked her Baptism Certificate behind the mat for safe keeping.

Thanks for visiting.

ScrapFriends fun

The Sketch Challenge #11 over at Scrapfriends was lots of fun to put together.  This is the sketch and as you can see it had lots of elements to it

Here is my layout:

I had fun with a new purchase, being my Chevron Mask - it really worked for the background of this layout - and then let the fun begin - adding a bit here and a bit there - tucking a bit more there.
And we have the finished product.

FISHIN'

The sketch over at Stuck Sketches certainly gave me something to think about:

but in the end I am really pleased with my results.

and I really love my wee seagull that I found in my stash - my challenge to myself is to use only what I have in my stash and I am not allowed to by anything until I have made a"big dent" in it.  It has been fun finding things that have been buried for a while.

First Colour Challenge for me!

Today I have completed my first ever colour challenge - I found this colour plate over at Scrapmuch

and I have combined it with the March sketch at JAI Scrap #15.

The colours were just what I needed for these photos - I did have a bit of trouble trying add the silver grey until hunting through my "stash" I found the bling - which just brought it altogether.
The DSP I have used is from Stampin Up Comfort Cafe - it had all the right colours

Oh yeah we are going home

I am loving the new site (too me) over at Inspired-blueprints - they have some wonderful sketches and they are all working really well with the photos I am working on at the present time.

This sketch #86

was just perfect for this page of our second daughter all ready to leave the hospital.

I have used Stampin Up DSP from the Fan Fair collection - this has to be my favourite paper in the current Stampin Up collection.

One Day Old

For this sketch #85 at Inspired Blueprints

I turned it around and I am really pleased with how it ended up:

This layout is of our daughter Monique - one day old and the first cuddle we were allowed to have.  It was great to be able to put lots of journalling on this layout.

A Road Trip ....

.... with #86 Sketch at sketchabilities

For this sketch - one of the photos (the car load of beer) is the title - as really this says it all.

This layout is part of an album that I am putting together for my husbands 50th birthday.  This was a great road trip to a New Years Eve party.   Those were the days!
